Zendaya’s ‘The Odyssey’ Premiere Outfit Takes the Top Spot in 2026’s Fashion Race
New York Premiere Of Universal Pictures The Odyssey MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, USA - JULY 14: Zendaya wearing Matieres Fecales Fall 2025 and Chopard jewelry, styled by Law Roach arrives at the New York Premiere Of Universal Pictures The Odyssey held at AMC Lincoln Square 13 on July 14, 2026 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States. Zendaya has spent 2026 making red carpets her personal runway, but for the New York premiere of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, she decided to give the gods a little fashion competition. Draped in a custom off-white Matières Fécales gown, complete with sculptural feathered wings, a plunging corseted bodice, a thigh-high slit, and a sweeping train, the actress looked less like a Hollywood star and more like a goddess who had just descended from Mount Olympus.
The mythological fashion moment has now been named 2026’s best celebrity look, proving that Zendaya did not need a Trojan horse to conquer Hollywood.

Zendaya has clearly had a productive year, but while other celebrities were busy chasing fashion moments, she apparently decided to summon the gods themselves. The Hollywood Reporter put the question to Hollywood’s 50 biggest stylists in its best celebrity look poll, and the actress emerged victorious with her New York premiere ensemble for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Even Athena might have approved of that particular conquest.
The July 14 premiere saw Zendaya step out in Matières Fécales’ ‘Ange’ gown, a custom creation by Law Roach featuring delicate micro-hand-pleated chiffon and magnificent white rooster-feather wings. More than 30 carats of Chopard diamonds, Christian Louboutin pumps, and a bohemian fishtail braid completed the heavenly picture. Stylist Tara Swennen admitted the look literally took her breath away, while Ilaria Urbinati likened Zendaya to a painting.

And because one divine appearance is hardly an entire epic, the actress kept the fashion odyssey going. London got a sculptural Schiaparelli masterpiece straight from the Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture runway, while Paris received an architectural Louis Vuitton shirt-dress by Nicolas Ghesquière. As it turns out, the angel gown had been waiting in the wings for over two years, and the timing could hardly have been more mythical. A face proven by The Hollywood Reporter's poll.
Even with Sandra Bullock seemingly happy to play Zendaya’s shoe-polisher, the actress still had plenty of red carpet competition to contend with.
Zendaya's 2026 competitors
Of course, Zendaya was hardly the only celebrity giving fashion critics something to talk about this year. Emma Chamberlain turned the Met Gala theme, ‘Fashion Is Art’, into a literal masterpiece in a custom Mugler gown by Miguel Castro Freitas, featuring a rainbow-hued, impressionist-inspired texture that took over 40 hours to paint. Demi Moore, meanwhile, traded conventional Cannes glamour for a provocative hot-pink Matières Fécales ballgown styled by Brad Goreski.

Elsewhere, Saint Laurent muses Zoë Kravitz, Hailey Bieber, and Rosé turned the CFDA Awards into a liquid-gold spectacle, while Keke Palmer unearthed a vintage Bob Mackie treasure once worn by Raquel Welch. Renate Reinsve and Hunter Schafer brought their own sartorial surprises to the Oscars and Euphoria premiere circuit. Still, when Hollywood's 50 biggest stylists had to pick one winner, Zendaya was the goddess who brought home the laurel wreath.
