Zendaya, born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, is of biracial ethnicity, having a German-Scottish mother and an African-American father. She was born on September 1st, 1996, to Claire Marie Stoermer and Kazembe Ajamu Coleman. Her father was originally from Arkansas, and her mother was from Scotland, who then migrated to Canada and then came to the USA to attend college. 

Both of their parents' ancestry is from different places altogether. Her father is known to have discovered he has roots in Nigeria post a DNA test, and her mother has German connections.
