Jeff Trammell has confirmed that work is already underway on Seasons 3 and 4 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, even before Season 2 premieres. That is a confident vote of faith in an animated series gaining momentum. The show makes Peter Parker feel familiar without retracing the steps of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s live-action Spider-Man.

This version has room to grow, and Marvel appears to be planning for it. The early start suggests the creative team is mapping Peter’s adolescence as a longer story, rather than resetting his journey each year.

Season 3 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has already been announced, but Marvel has not formally announced a fourth-season renewal. However, showrunner Jeff Trammell’s comments at the New York Comic Con have confirmed that development is moving ahead, though a public green light has not been announced.

“I don’t know what I can say, and no one’s stopping me, so I’m gonna say we’re already working on Seasons 3 and 4,” he said, speaking with Collider.

The series debuted in 2025 with Peter in an alternate universe where Norman Osborn, instead of Tony Stark, becomes his mentor. Its comic-book-inspired animation and focus on Peter balancing school, friendship and superhero work let Marvel revisit familiar characters without being boxed in by the main MCU timeline. The first season also built relationships and mysteries that can pay off over multiple chapters, making the longer plan Trammell has hinted at to Collider useful.

With the future taking shape early, the next test is Season 2, which will push Peter beyond the safety of his origin story.

Season 2 brings bigger threats and new faces

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 arrives on Disney+ on January 13, 2027, after moving from its previously expected 2026 window. Jeff Trammell has said that Peter is no longer a beginner with a mentor guiding him, but a more capable Spider-Man facing threats that may require unexpected help. At New York Comic Con, he teased that help could come from “inky black goo from space”—the symbiote that leads to Venom.

The season introduces Eddie Brock, voiced by Josh Keaton, and Gwen Stacy, while Charlie Cox returns as Daredevil. It will also pick up threads from the finale, including the reveal that Peter’s father, Richard Parker, is alive and imprisoned. These threads could continue into later seasons, though their outcomes remain unknown.

Marvel has expanded the writing team for Season 2 as Trammell balances showrunning with a larger story. If Peter’s world is growing beyond one school year, early work on Seasons 3 and 4 may be less a surprise than a sign that this Spider-Man has a long game.
