Immediately after its historic Emmy win, South Park takes a jab at President Donald Trump. South Park is well known for its willingness to make fun of any topic, regardless of how sacred, offensive, or contentious it may be. The animated series' creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have used it as a cultural mirror for almost thirty years, operating under the rigid tenet of "equal opportunity offender." 

The show has successfully survived and flourished in a time of shifting cultural boundaries by presenting all points of view, religions, and public figures with the same degree of disrespect - something that even the American President Donald Trump could not escape.

Trolling President Donald Trump is part of South Park's celebration of winning the 78th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. At the Los Angeles ceremony on Sunday, South Park won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. Trey Parker and Matt Stone's animated comedy is renowned for its sarcastic parodies of a wide range of political topics, and Donald Trump is one of them.

The official South Park account shared a picture of the show's characters on social media, with a cartoon Trump holding an Emmy and standing out with his pants down. The text overlay on the image said, "You finally got your Emmy."

“Congratulations to Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the entire South Park team on their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program!” the caption added.

The president was frequently made fun of in South Park's 27th season, which ran from July to September of last year. The Emmy-winning premiere episode, Sermon on the 'Mount, showed Trump n--in bed with Satan and made several jokes about him. The entire season's plot revolved around Satan and Trump getting pregnant. And now the social media post mocking him has again made an uproar.

Weighing in on the animated series' provocative portrayal of the President, the White House did not hold back its disdain for the long-running program. In a sharply worded statement released following the season premiere, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers dismissed the satire entirely, arguing that the show had lost its cultural relevance decades ago and was merely relying on uninspired ideas in a desperate, last-ditch bid for attention.

Interestingly, Trump has a sour relationship with the Emmys, as the American President has made his hatred for the award show pretty clear in the past few years.

The reason behind Donald Trump's conflict with the Emmy Awards is that, despite numerous nominations, his reality show, The Apprentice, did not receive an Emmy. The Apprentice was nominated for the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program from 2004 to 2006, but The Amazing Race won each time. 

Trump openly declared in a 2012 social media post that the awards ceremony was "all politics" and lacked credibility, claiming that his show should have won. The Apprentice was nominated for eight Emmys throughout its run from 2004 to 2017. Through South Park, the American President might fulfil his dream of winning an Emmy, which was entirely the point of the show’s social media post after winning.
