Marvel’s X-Men reboot is slowly coming together as the highly-anticipated project recently revealed its new cast and gave fans a better idea of where the franchise is heading. Pat Scola is said to be attached as director of cinematography on Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, bringing yet another veteran talent to the project’s increasingly impressive behind-the-scenes team. Scola would bring his experience from projects such as A Quiet Place: Day One, and We Grown Now. The cinematographer report arrives as X-Men continues to take shape following Marvel Studios’ recent cast reveal at D23.

However, as per Comics Basics, industry observer Christopher Marc reported the unconfirmed news, and, as of yet, Marvel has not officially confirmed Scola’s involvement. Meanwhile, MCU president Kevin Feige and director Jake Schreier confirmed the film’s release date as May 5, 2028, giving fans a better timeline for the highly anticipated reboot. The movie is expected to come out after Avengers: Secret Wars and will be the first X-Men film since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox in 2019 to be built around a new mutant roster. 

Additionally, Marvel has unveiled the new cast for the upcoming mutant reboot. As of now, Sadie Sink is taking on the role of Jean Gray, Kit Connor is playing Cyclops, Christopher Abbott is playing Professor X, Samara Weaving is playing Emma Frost, Maya Boyd is playing Storm, Inde Navarrette is playing Rogue, and Adam Driver is playing Mister Sinister. The line-up suggests that a new era awaits mutants in the MCU, as Marvel has assembled a cast that combines new stars with actors famous for critically-acclaimed films and Hollywood blockbusters.
