Apparently, an Oscar nomination was not enough excitement for Wunmi Mosaku, who has kept her 2026 calendar wonderfully crowded. After earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Sinners, Mosaku joined Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Reckoning alongside Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, and Mikey Madison. She also executive produces and guides National Geographic’s Africa: Earth's Wild Home. Now, she is joining Aldis Hodge for One Night Out.

The Oscar-nominated actress is not slowing down anytime soon, making her upcoming thriller even more exciting.

Wunmi Mosaku is adding another intriguing thriller to her increasingly busy slate. According to Deadline, Mosaku will star alongside Aldis Hodge in One Night Out, a new Amazon MGM Studios project from Orion Pictures. George Tillman Jr. is directing the film, which will eventually arrive on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.

The story turns an ordinary parents’ night out into a terrifying race against time. A married couple dealing with marital problems finally gets a rare evening away from their three children, leaving a babysitter at home. Then a glimpse of someone inside the house on the nanny cam changes everything, forcing the parents to rush home.

One Night Out comes from writer Nelson Greaves, who adapted the film from his own short story, with revisions by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo. Tillman has also spoken about wanting to work with Mosaku and Hodge for years before finding the right project. As Deadline reported, that long-awaited collaboration has finally arrived.

While audiences are always curious about the riches of actresses like Wunmi Mosaku, this time the real question is how rich her thriller game can get.

Wunmi Mosaku's thriller credentials

Long before Sinners, Wunmi Mosaku was already making psychological unease look like familiar territory. His House gave Mosaku a haunting showcase as Rial Majur, while Alice, Darling placed her in a more grounded portrait of emotional abuse. On television, Passenger, Lovecraft Country, and Luther further established Mosaku as an actor perfectly at home in darker, high-pressure stories.

Then there is Fearless, where Mosaku tackled political conspiracy and institutional secrets, and Black Mirror, where she appeared in the unnerving Playtest. Across horror, crime, psychological suspense, and supernatural mystery, Mosaku has repeatedly gravitated toward stories where tension is never merely decorative. With One Night Out now pairing her with Aldis Hodge, that thriller fortune is looking richer by the minute.
