Jane Lynch predicted four years ago that her Glee character Sue Sylvester would be MAGA, and the reboot has now given that remark a fresh spotlight. Hulu and Disney+ have greenlit the revival, so McKinley High is about to reopen its doors. Nobody has announced a plot yet, though fans have already started drafting theories online. Sylvester never needed an invitation to cause chaos, and her tracksuit is surely being pressed.
While the reboot has no plot yet, Lynch handed it a political backbone long ago, with one laughing reply.

Sue Sylvester would be MAGA, according to Jane Lynch, who said so in a Guardian interview published on February 16, 2022. Glee had ended in 2015 with Sylvester serving as the Republican vice president and announcing a presidential run for 2024.
“She would be MAGA,” Lynch responded with a laugh when the interviewer brought up Sue’s presidential ambitions in the finale.
She then added, "I think there would have been people out there who would have wanted to cancel Sue Sylvester," had the show still been airing.

The Guardian interview also revealed that Lynch doubted Glee could be made the same way in 2022. The interviewer called Sylvester a deliberately awful villain whose r***** and fat-shaming remarks might not survive a modern audience. Lynch also pointed to anonymous critics able to end careers, and she hoped the urge to catch people out would fade soon. Glee had premiered only a decade earlier, yet comedy already felt different to her.
While Lynch imagined Sylvester facing modern scrutiny, Chris Colfer is picturing an angry crowd of his own, and it carries farm tools.
Chris Colfer fears pitchforks and jazz hands over a Glee revival
Chris Colfer, who played Kurt Hummel in all six seasons of Glee, told Bustle he has heard nothing about the revival. He joked that fans would probably come after him with pitchforks and jazz hands if he said no. Yet Colfer admitted that returning would not be easy for him. Glee was a demanding show to make, and the loss of Naya Rivera would make revisiting that world especially hard.

Ryan Murphy revealed in September that he had finished a script with co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who wrote the first two seasons. Murphy also spoke with around 10 original cast members, none of whom had read the script. The project had no series order then, only a script and active development. Colfer still wanted answers before committing, while Sue Sylvester needed none, since Jane Lynch had already predicted she would walk back into McKinley High wearing MAGA politics.
