This summer, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the follow-up series of the Emmy Award-winning show Wizards of Waverly Place, will be back for one last season on Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Channel. The four-part series, which has already entered production, will be one last stint of the Russo family in their magical world. Selena Gomez, who will be marking her directorial debut with the premiere episode of the final season, is set to reprise her role as Alex Russo.

But there is a bigger surprise waiting! Selena Gomez will be joined by another Wizards of Waverly Place, Jennifer Stone.

Jennifer Stone, an original cast member of Wizards of Waverly Place, will return to reprise her role as Harper Finkle in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, as per an exclusive by Variety. The third and final season of the Disney sitcom will feature Stone as a guest star. She will return to her role as Alex Russo's non-magical best friend. Stone portrayed Harper in all of the 106 episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place, including two films of the franchise.

Stone is the most recent member of the original cast to make an appearance on the current show. The new cast is led by Janice LeAnn Brown, with performances from Selena Gomez, Maria Canals Barrera, and David DeLuise. Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, Taylor Cora, and Mimi Gianopulos are some of the other members of the new cast. Furthermore, it was just revealed that Gregg Sulkin would play Mason Greyback in the last season.

Talking about the creative team, Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Rick Williams, Gomez, and Henrie serve as executive producers, while the writers include Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. Todd Greenwald is the mastermind behind the creation of the magical world of Wizards of Waverly Place.

According to Disney's logline, in the four-part event, Billie, who is still in shock over losing Alex at the end of season 2, learns that meeting her father again is the only chance to save her mother. Billie discovers that her family's combined might is the only way the Russos can vanquish the darkness afflicting them as they unite to locate Alex.

A tough challenge for the Russo family awaits, and Jennifer Stone’s character might help Billie in her quest.
