With MJ Gone and No Tony, Spider-Man’s Only Support in Brand New Day Is an AI Assistant EV

Anticipation for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached renewed heights after director Destin Daniel Cretton's annotated script pages have dug deeper into Peter Parker's newfound solitary life. Living in a world where he does not exist to MJ, Ned, or Tony Stark, his only companion is now his self-forged AI assistant, E.V, as per Entertainment Weekly.
Set to swing into theaters in July 2026, the film will find Peter Parker nine months after the world forgot his existence. With Mary Jane gone and the shadow of Tony Stark fading, the hero faces a grim reality in a lonely apartment.
The protagonist must now navigate the dangers of New York City without his former billionaire backing or high-tech Avengers resources.

Peter Parker’s high-tech companion named E.V.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, after reviewing the shared script, Peter has developed an artificial intelligence assistant named E.V. to fill the void left by his lost mentors and manage his daily operations. This digital entity functions similarly to previous systems such as J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y., but is the only friend Peter has left. She assists him as he struggles with the physical and mental toll of living entirely in the shadows.
“Sadly, the closest thing Peter has to a friend,” Destin Daniel Cretton notes describe E.V. as, in the script.
Peter no longer has access to the vast fortune or advanced weaponry provided by the late Tony Stark. Every piece of equipment in his possession is now a product of his own scientific brilliance and limited budget. He utilizes a homemade fabricator, described as a powerful version of a 3D printer, to manufacture his essential crime-fighting gear.
In his small room, Peter keeps relics such as a LEGO figurine gifted to him by Ned and an old coffee cup from MJ. He monitors social media alerts from his friends, smiling at their successes while remaining a ghost to them.
A new aesthetic and a classic approach to justice further define this gritty era for the web-slinger.
A hand-stitched suit and the return to basic heroics
As reported by the same Entertainment Weekly report, Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a brand-new Spider-Man suit that moves away from the sleek, metallic designs of the past. Peter constructed this outfit from real fabric and with visible seams, drawing inspiration from the multiversal variants he encountered during his previous battle. The script describes a cinematic transition where Spider-Man monitors a police scanner while perched upside down on a steel beam. As a voiceover from Peter finishes the letter, he pulls his mask down and falls into a freefall over the New York City skyline.
“He pulls his mask down, letting himself fall off the edge, he webs and swings away as music starts to play and we…BEGIN MONTAGE,” the script reads.

The film even incorporates lost memories into the Marvel Studios logo to reflect his unique and tragic circumstances. One can now only wait for the emotional and technical rebirth of a legend when the newest chapter of the franchise arrives, albeit tinged with Peter Parker's lonliness.
