Supergirl has barely touched down, and it has already accomplished the impossible: turning cosmic road trips into Hollywood's latest civil war. Craig Gillespie's delightfully eccentric adaptation of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has critics and fans split over its offbeat blend of vengeance, heart, and Krypto the Dog's scene-stealing charm. Yet for many, the film also rekindled memories of Kara Zor-El's unforgettable first entrance beside Superman.
With excitement for Man of Tomorrow only growing, Supergirl's release has fans wondering whether Clark Kent's formidable cousin will soar into his next cinematic adventure as well.

Yes, Supergirl will return in Man of Tomorrow, and The Hollywood Reporter has already dropped the biggest clue. Kara Zor-El's cosmic detour is far from over. Instead, the Girl of Steel is trading deep space for Metropolis, setting up another family reunion with her famous Kryptonian cousin that promises plenty of sparks.
"Man of Tomorrow, which is what we’re shooting now, Alcock is in that movie," said Lars P. Winther. The executive producer left little room for mystery, explaining that Kara has moved beyond her reckless, galaxy-hopping phase. She is now trying to reconnect with Clark Kent and settle into life on Earth, making the upcoming film a far more grounded chapter for the heroine.
The Hollywood Reporter interview also aligns perfectly with where Supergirl leaves its leading hero. After completing her dangerous mission across the stars with Krypto by her side, Kara returns to Earth instead of disappearing into the cosmos again. She even tells Clark Kent that she intends to stay, signaling a meaningful new beginning rather than another farewell.
James Gunn echoed that direction during the film's world premiere, revealing that Kara and Clark remain very different personalities, a contrast that fuels their relationship. He also teased that her role becomes an even bigger part of Man of Tomorrow. Together, those updates suggest audiences should expect more than a simple cameo when the House of El reunites.
From the hints dropped so far, it seems the cousins will not just reunite. They might even spend the next film punching villains together in what could practically be called The Super Cousins.

Everything revealed so far suggests Superman and Supergirl will indeed be battling the same enemy, although harmony seems just as absent from their partnership as it is between Supergirl's critics and audiences scores. Brainiac targets Clark Kent and Kara Zor-El because they are the last surviving Kryptonians, while Kandor gives both heroes a deeply personal reason to fight. They share the battlefield, but certainly not the playbook.

James Gunn has already described Kara as very different from her cousin, a difference shaped by her far harsher upbringing. Their contrasting worldviews may create just as many problems as the villains do. In addition to that, production details also tease a rocky partnership built on clashing ideals instead of effortless teamwork. Add Lex Luthor's uneasy alliance with Superman into the mix, and Man of Tomorrow looks ready to deliver a delightfully chaotic family team-up rather than a picture-perfect cousin reunion.
