The Boys returned with huge expectations and plenty of chatter, and it came through with intense action, blood baths, death, explosions, and shocking revelations. One thing the fandom is especially excited about is a crossover with the spin-off show Gen V. In the first three episodes, Gen V character Marie Moreau is mentioned several times, but she has yet to appear in the newest season of The Boys.

As the season moves closer to its climax, will Marie finally show up?

In the first three episodes of The Boys, Marie Moreau is said to be leading a team for Starlight’s resistance, with their base in Pittsburgh. Later, Stan Edgar mentions her again, though their location is not revealed this time. This confirms that Marie, in the same timeline, has joined the resistance and is in touch with both Starlight and Edgar.

This hints that she could make an appearance soon. Writer and showrunner Eric Kripke also confirmed that the characters will appear just before the series wraps up. This was because he wanted to show that the characters are alive and fighting in the battle.

“Yeah, the Gen V kids certainly show up before the season's over,” he said, in an interview, reported by Screenrant.

While an appearance seems even amid all the shocking twists of season 5, the question is whether Marie will play a major role. With her blood-manipulation powers, she could be one of the few capable of hurting Homelander. Could that be the key to ending the story in Season 5? However, Kripke seems hesitant to give Gen V characters such a big role in The Boys season 5.

Do You Need to Watch 'Gen V' before 'The Boys' Season 5?

While Marie seemingly holds the power to solve The Boys' problem, she might have to hold it back.

Eric Kripke does not want Gen V characters to play a huge role in The Boys

Eric Kripke explained in his interview that he does not want the Gen V characters to take on major roles in The Boys or solve their problems. And that is because even though both shows exist in the same universe, not every viewer has watched Gen V. He also added that the same goes for the other way around.

"The last thing I would want is for people to feel like, 'I have to go back and watch Gen V now as homework to understand what's happening in The Boys.' And by the way, the reverse is true. I don't want The Boys to be so all over Gen V that those characters aren't foregrounded,” he said in the same interview, reported by Screenrant.

So, it remains to be seen how and when the characters from Gen V could appear in the show. After all, The Boys Season 5, which is the final season, has arrived with several twists and turns. From A-Train’s shocking death in episode one to Kimiko finally breaking her long silence, the surprises keep escalating. While the creators are careful to ensure that Gen V does not overshadow the characters in The Boys, there is clearly no escape from shocking revelations.
