The Marvel Cinematic Universe has built its reputation on unexpected team-ups, surprise cameos, and connections that stretch across movies and television. Ever since Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been eager to see whether the blind lawyer and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will cross paths again in a larger capacity.

Now, as anticipation grows for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, speculation surrounding Daredevil’s involvement has reached a new level. Between recent comments from Cox, the movie’s rumored street-level direction, and Spider-Man’s existing ties to Matt Murdock, the possibility of another crossover suddenly feels more realistic than ever.

Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed whether Daredevil will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, Charlie Cox recently addressed the growing rumors during an interview with TheWrap at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in March, and his response immediately caught fans’ attention. Speaking about the possibility of MCU crossovers, Cox explained how the landscape has changed since the Netflix era of Marvel television.

“But now that we are — having made these kind of mini-splashes with me in [Spider-Man: No Way Home], Vincent in Hawkeye and Echo, it’s on the table, it’s on the cards. It’s possible, it’s available, and Jon [Bernthal] now going into [Spider-Man: Brand New Day] as well,” he said to TheWrap at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in March.

While the actor stopped short of directly confirming his involvement, his comments strongly suggest that Marvel is open to bringing these street-level heroes together more often. With Jon Bernthal’s Punisher already rumored to be part of the upcoming film, many fans believe Daredevil could naturally fit into the story as well.

That possibility becomes even more believable when looking at how Matt Murdock and Peter Parker are already connected in the MCU timeline.

Matt Murdock already has a place in Peter Parker’s story

Matt Murdock already has a strong connection to Peter Parker in the MCU after appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter’s lawyer following Quentin Beck’s accusations against Spider-Man. Even though Doctor Strange’s spell erased the world’s memory of Peter Parker, Spider-Man himself was not forgotten, which means Matt could still remember defending the masked hero. That existing relationship makes it much easier for Marvel to bring Daredevil back into Peter’s story in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The upcoming film is also rumored to focus on street-level crime and grounded threats in New York City rather than multiversal events. With Punisher reportedly involved, Daredevil would naturally fit into that darker setting. Rumors about The Hand potentially appearing in the movie further strengthen the theory, since the ninja organization has deep ties to Daredevil’s comic-book history and past Marvel shows.
