Bigfoot is stepping into the spotlight as the lead of a brutal new revenge thriller called Wildman. Hollywood loves a good vengeance story, but this one swaps a grieving hitman for a towering cryptid with a serious grudge. The project blends folklore with hard-edged action, borrowing heavily from a genre formula that has worked wonders before. Industry insiders are already calling the setup one of the more unexpected deals of the year.

While Bigfoot prepares to hunt down hunters in true action hero fashion, the label backing him has a history worth exploring first.

Wildman lands at Badlands with a bold bigfoot premise

Wildman has officially found a home, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Badlands, the genre label run by Scott Strauss, acquired the spec script written by Jacob Reiner. The label sits under Thunder Road, the banner behind John Wick, guided by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The plot follows Bigfoot on a relentless quest to retrieve his fallen younger brother, tracking down every person responsible.

Reiner, a Texas native, submitted the script to a horror competition hosted on Scriptshadow.com, a site dedicated to screenwriting craft. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that founder Carson Reeves spotlighted the project during the contest, titled Blood and Ink, drawn to its bold concept. That attention caught the eye of manager Jake Wagner of Alibi Entertainment, who reached out soon after. The journey from online contest to studio deal made this pickup stand out.
