Why Not Romancing the Global Heartthrob Henry Cavill Was Loved by Eiza González in ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare'

Henry Cavill is having a roll this year with a lineup of engaging projects. Just a while ago, the top spot in this lineup was held by the captivating clip of Cavill spinning around with a Dua Lipa in Argylle. However, the movie was easily overshadowed by The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a Guy Ritchie spy action comedy without any hint of romance, to Eiza González's relief.

Loosely based on real-life events, it does away with one aspect of the original tale that fans would have loved to watch: a romance between Cavill and Eiza González. However, the actress herself could not be happier about not sharing romantic scenes with Henry Cavill.

British superstar Henry Cavill would never admit it himself, but he is quite the stunner. His impact became further clear as the top moments to emerge from Netflix's The Witcher were what is now known fondly as the iconic bathtub scene and his shared moments with Anya Chalotra's Yennefer. But despite all this, Eiza González 'loved' that she did not have any romantic scenes with Henry Cavill as revealed to Entertainment Weekly. When asked the reason, the actress said the no romance trope was a "unique take."

Speaking to Weekly further, she shared how she enjoys romantic scenes and even loves watching them but not having them in the recent flick made it possible for each character to live their individual arcs to the full extent. "Nothing distracted from the mission," she further added while explaining her thoughts about the unique take.
