At 41, Khloé Kardashian is not chasing headlines the way she once did. That is precisely why she is drawing a firm line now, she has no interest in being pulled back into the emotional chaos of her past relationships.

That boundary is being tested again with the release of Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom, centered on her ex-husband Lamar Odom. While the documentary revisits one of the most turbulent chapters of both their lives, Kardashian’s response has made it clear she is not willing to let the narrative unfold unchecked.

More than a decade after their whirlwind romance and equally public unraveling, Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom are once again dominating headlines. Speaking out after the release of Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom, she made it clear that the situation has left her deeply frustrated, particularly over how her role in Odom’s life is being portrayed. 

“I’m not paid one penny. Now Lamar is doing press, annoyed with me. I can’t stand it. Claiming or insinuating that I’m a liar. All these things discrediting me, saying that I wasn’t the one that helped him.” she said in a recent episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land,  . 

Back then, their relationship cemented by a marriage in 2009 after just 30 days of dating was both a cultural fixation and a reality-TV storyline, amplified through Keeping Up with the Kardashians and their spin-off, Khloé & Lamar. But beneath the glossy exterior, the reality was far more complicated. Lamar, a two-time NBA champion and Sixth Man of the Year, struggled with addiction and infidelity, issues that escalated to a near-fatal overdose in 2015, where he reportedly suffered multiple strokes and heart attacks in a single night.

That naturally raises a bigger question, if Khloé Kardashian feels discredited, what exactly has Lamar Odom said or implied to trigger such a strong response? 

What deepens the controversy is the perception that Lamar Odom’s recent remarks and the broader framing of the documentary, undermine Khloé Kardashian’s role during his lowest moments. For someone who had largely maintained a respectful silence over the years, the shift feels jarring. Because even in the documentary, Kardashian reveals her vulnerabilities with utmost honesty. 

“Behind the scenes, you, your friends, you guys are all saying how you were with me just for fame. That’s like some f***** up st. Like, I feel so dumb. I spent hours and time doing this documentary as a favor,” she said.   

It is not that Khloé Kardashian has not moved on, her continued support for Tristan Thompson, the father of her children, and even his family, suggests a pattern of loyalty that extends beyond romantic ties. But loyalty, in her view, does not mean accepting a rewritten version of events.
