Callina Liang has the cutest response to Eric André’s 16-year-old wish for a real-life Chun-Li ahead of Street Fighter. The film hits theaters this Friday, October 16, and the arcade legend returns to the big screen. Its cast stacks up actors, a wrestling star, and one comedian whose internet history just caught up with him. Fans are enjoying the coincidence, which feels far too perfect to be planned by anyone.
The old post finally has a reply, and Liang delivers it with excellent comic timing and a plan for tonight.

Callina Liang plans to tease Eric André for staying silent about his own X post. André posted in July 2010 that he wished Chun-Li was real, and fifteen years later Liang plays her.
“I’ll probably just go up to him tonight and be like, ‘Hey, I saw your tweet. I’m here. I’m here,’” Liang told IGN.
She added that she would also ask him, “Why didn't you say anything to me? I've been real this whole time.”

IGN’s clip is where Liang learned about the old post, which explains how fresh and playful her reaction feels. André, for his part, plays Don Sauvage in a film directed by his longtime collaborator Kitao Sakurai. Set in 1993, the story follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken, whom Chun-Li pulls into a tournament. Andrew Koji plays Ryu, Noah Centineo is Ken, Jason Momoa becomes Blanka and Roman Reigns takes on Akuma.
While the cast enjoys one perfect coincidence, the film already eyes a second round, provided audiences cooperate.
Street Fighter sequel ideas are in development, but the box office decides Round Two
Kitao Sakurai told MovieWeb that sequel ideas for Street Fighter are actively being developed, even though Paramount and Legendary have not officially ordered another film. The director added that the team has many ideas and is already putting them on paper. He avoided promising any details, saying further films depend heavily on how fans respond. Ideas are free, but a sequel still needs ticket buyers willing to pay for Round Two.

Another game giant has also punched its ticket, with Paramount developing a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 film alongside CD Projekt Red and Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Plot, cast, director and release date all remain under wraps. Netflix already turned Night City into a hit with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and season 2 arrives October 20 with a fresh cast. For now, Street Fighter has one final opponent to face before a sequel can happen: the box office.
