Away from the classroom, Chris shared two sons, Ben, born in 1972, and Casey, born in 1975, with former husband Timothy Affleck. The family eventually settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where Ben and Casey were raised before Chris and Timothy Affleck divorced in 1984, when Ben was just 12 years old. As Affleck moved to California while battling alcoholism, Chris became the steady foundation of the family, determined to give her sons a sense of stability despite difficult circumstances. Byrne, a Miami-Dade narcotics officer whose loyalty is tested after his tactical unit uncovers $20 million in cartel cash. The thriller stormed to the top of Netflix’s global charts following its January release.

The Oscar winner’s schedule stretches well beyond acting. Affleck is set to star in and direct the upcoming crime thriller Animals, sharing the screen with Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson, and Steven Yeun.
