The young lord of the Riverlands, Oscar Tully, made a name for himself standing up to the Queen Consort, Daemon Targaryen, who was not in his right mind throughout the second season of House of the Dragon. The entire second season of the show was dedicated to soliciting support from every corner of Westeros. The side with the largest army would automatically win half the battle.
With this objective, Daemon set out to get the army of the Riverlands to fight under Rhaenyra's banner, but instead ended up antagonising them. There he was met with fairly young Oscar Tully, newly minted Lord Paramount of the Riverlands, who stood up to a disrespectful Daemon, and with that, the young actor playing Oscar Tully garnered everyone’s attention.
Now, when it is time for season 3 to begin, viewers are still scouring the internet for the actor who impressed them as Oscar Tully in season 2.

The actor who plays Oscar Tully
The character of Oscar Tully in the House of the Dragon series is being played by the 20-year-old English actor, Archie Barnes. Barnes' mother, Helena Calvert, also pursued a career as an actor in the show business, so acting runs in the family. Calvert has several acting credits, according to her IMDb biography.
EastEnders and Crimetime are some of her most significant appearances in soap operas. Additionally, she appears in 17 episodes of the popular soap opera Emmerdale, the majority of which were from 1996 and a few of which aired in 2019. Therefore, this leaves no question about where Barnes got the acting bug from.
Olly Barnes, his father, works in the entertainment industry close to his wife and kid, but he is not in the film or television industries. He is an entrepreneur in the music industry and co-founded Voisey, a company that facilitates the start and growth of collaborations between singers and songwriters, according to his LinkedIn page.
While we are sorted on the personal details of the young actor, it is time to take a look at his professional journey.
A career filled with opportunities to work with great actors
Archie Barnes has several credits to his name, one of which is a minor part in the popular DC film The Batman from 2022. Alongside Robert Pattinson (Batman), Paul Dano (Riddler), Andy Serkis (Alfred), and others, he portrayed Don Mitchell Jr., the son of Gotham Mayor Don Mitchell Sr.

His role as Robert Pretty in The Dig is another significant accomplishment. He collaborated with several well-known actors in that movie, such as Ralph Fiennes, who portrayed Voldemort in five Harry Potter films, and Carey Mulligan from Never Let Me Go. However, his biggest role to date remains Oscar Tully in House of the Dragon, and he will soon be seen again in the impressively rated third season of the show.
