Michael Jackson, while one of a kind, has left a legacy that is incredibly reflective of who he was. Almost as if he were looking in a mirror, Jackson's upcoming biopic star seems to have a knack for evoking an uncanny familiarity. And in turn, questions of a connection beyond the screen between the two. 

To embody the fluidity Michael Jackson once did poses is an impossible task, but to mimic, a close relation has made the cut. 

Jaafar Jackson, 29, is a singer, dancer, and, with the release of Michael, a will-be actor. It seems to have helped that Jackson is not only Jermaine Jackson's son but also Michael Jackson, the very pop king's niece.

However, Jaafar Jackson's part in Michael is not solely based on his birth certificate, credited to the Jackson family. His expertise, specifically in partaking in media catered to the dynastic family's life on screen, might have played a role in landing him the part.

Jackson has been listed as the main cast of the yet-to-be-released reality show, Living with the Jacksons. He also made an appearance in the 2015 reality TV show, The Jacksons: Next Generation, as well as in Tito Jackson's music video for 'Love One Another', in 2021.

While some family members claim 0 involvement, Jaafar Jackson's involvement will soon walk the theatrical run. 

Initially announced in February 2022, Michael, after a few pushbacks, is set to release on April 24, 2026. Helmed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael will explore the growing years of Michael Jackson. This will span his time with the Jackson 5, to the very beginnings of his career's undefeated prevalence.  

Michael is bringing back the spirit of pop music's most sensational act to date, while launching Jaafar Jackson onto the big screen. With Lionsgate at the production end, and a promise of perhaps their biggest project to date, Michael now awaits to justify its record-breaking teaser launches so far.
