The world of Invincible appeals to the audience in more than one way. The insane power scaling and the gory action are one part of it, but the most fascinating aspect is its storyline and the constant twists and revelations that keep the viewers hooked. Right now, the story has one major mystery dooming the fate of the Coalition of Planets, and with it, Earth’s too.

The organization has long learned in Season 2 episode 3 that it has a mole, and it is constantly leaking information on several important moves that lead to the Viltrumites laying waste to those plans. But the show is now in its fourth season, and the identity of the mole still remains hidden.

The ardent followers of the show are still clueless as to who the mole is, and the answer might be hidden in the details.

Who might be the mole in Invincible season 4?

After the Viltrum Empire attacked Aikreon, the newest member of the Coalition of Planets, in Season 2 of Invincible, Thaedus, the Coalition's leader, assigned Allen the Alien the duty of locating a potential mole inside their ranks. However, three Viltrumites ambushed Allen before he could even start his investigation. This subtly hinted that Thaedus might be in cahoots with the mustachioed brutes.

But the air around him, being a mole, is still not cleared, and there are other possible candidates, like the council members who knew about Allen’s report on Invincible, Nolan’s son. There is a possibility that any of them might have leaked information to the Viltrumites to save their own planet from a tragic end at the hands of the war-mongering tyrants.

Another possible theory leads to an incident in season 4 when Allen brings Nolan to the main headquarters. While walking past the data entry department, the camera stays on the larger Data Twin for just a few seconds longer. This small detail has been hailed as a foreshadowing of Data Twin II as a possible mole.

Although there are quite a few suspects for the traitor, there is no definite evidence to pick the mole out of this lot. But another question remains whether the mole is a Viltrumite or not.

Can the mole be a Viltrumite himself?

The only way the mole turns out to be a Viltrumite is if it is Thaedus. It is a well-established fact that Thaedus is a Viltrumite who defected from his home planet and founded the Coalition of Planets to bring down his own planet and its inhabitants. In season 2 episode 3, he reveals to Allen the Alien that he is actually the first Viltrumite to betray the Empire, and Thragg, the strongest Viltrumite in the Invincible universe.

But if he is not the mole, then there is no way that the traitor is a Viltrumite, as all the other suspects belong to other races. The plot has thickened around this mystery of the mole, and there is an active effort to root it out before any more damage befalls the Coalition of Planets. The upcoming episodes of Invincible season 4 on Amazon Prime might lift the curtains on this prolonged mystery.
