The MCU has developed a peculiar habit of resurrecting old problems, and VisionQuest is turning that obsession into an art form. Paul Bettany's White Vision is wandering through an existential crisis, James Spader's Ultron has returned to offer spectacularly terrible advice, and a mysterious boy might just be Vision's long-lost son.

Naturally, Marvel decided this robotic family therapy session needed another villain. Enter Raza Al-Wazar, a character whose last appearance dates back to 2008's Iron Man. Eighteen years later, this forgotten troublemaker has returned

Carrying a rather important connection to the superhero who started the entire cinematic universe.

Who is Raza Al-Wazar, and how did he help create Iron Man?

Before Thanos collected colorful rocks and Loki developed a complicated relationship with the multiverse, Tony Stark had one extremely unpleasant encounter with a man named Raza. Played by Faran Tahir, Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar was a commander within the Ten Rings t******** organization in 2008's Iron Man.

His men captured Stark in Afghanistan, following a weapons demonstration, and imprisoned him inside a cave. Now, VisionQuest Episode 6 brings him back in Madripoor, wearing a sharp suit and commanding armed mercenaries. His mission involves capturing Vision after bounty hunter Paladin's assignment falls apart.

Raza interrupts their confrontation, only to be knocked unconscious by Paladin. Apparently, eighteen years of preparation still cannot guarantee a successful villainous entrance. His survival also reconnects the series to the Ten Rings, whose larger history was explored in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
