Nova is one of Marvel’s biggest cosmic heroes, a teen turned space guardian whose story starts with a random selection into the Nova Corps and explodes into battles against forces like the Annihilation Wave, the Skrulls, and Annihilus. He is not just another flying powerhouse; Richard Rider becomes the last survivor of a destroyed corps, carrying an entire civilization’s legacy in his head.

With Marvel Studios now moving ahead on a Nova project, the character is suddenly back in the spotlight.

Richard Rider first became Nova when Rhomann Dey chose him to inherit the dying Nova Corps’ powers, giving him strength, flight, and a connection to Xandar’s vast cosmic network. As a young hero, he fought enemies such as Zorr, the Condor, and the Sphinx before helping defend Xandar from the Skrulls. After giving up his powers and returning to Earth, he later reawakened as a hero and joined the New Warriors, balancing teenage life with superhero duty.

His biggest transformation came after the Nova Corps was wiped out by the Annihilation Wave. Rider survived as the sole bearer of the Nova Force and the Xandarian Worldmind, effectively becoming a one man army. That era made him a major player in Marvel’s cosmic side, as he led resistance efforts against Annihilus and later dealt with threats tied to the Phalanx, Galactus, and the Fault.

The new Marvel Studios film reportedly being developed by Michael Waldron makes Nova especially interesting again, because the character has enough history for a deep solo story and enough cosmic scale to plug into the MCU’s larger future. In other words, Nova is not just a space cop, he is a surviving legacy, a reluctant leader, and possibly Marvel’s next big cosmic breakthrough.

And as Marvel builds that cosmic future, another familiar name could also be stepping into its next generation of heroes.

Rumors link Noah Schnapp to Marvel’s next wave of mutants

Another Stranger Things name is now being linked to Marvel, and this time it is Noah Schnapp. The rumor suggests Marvel may be eyeing him for a mutant role, adding more attention to the studio’s ongoing search for younger talent as it builds toward its next X Men era. Schnapp is not officially attached to anything yet, and Marvel has not confirmed any casting news.

Still, the speculation has spread quickly because fans have long pictured him as Bobby Drake, better known as Iceman. That fan casting makes sense to many viewers since Schnapp has already shown he can handle emotional, layered performances as Will Byers over the course of Stranger Things.

Director Jake Schreier has already said casting conversations are happening for the reboot, which only makes these rumors louder. Even so, none of the names being floated, including Schnapp, are confirmed. For now, the idea remains speculation. But with Marvel preparing for a fresh start, the possibility of another Hawkins star joining the MCU is clearly catching attention.
