According to a report from Nexus Point, many believe the role could belong to Maxima of Almerac. For those unaware, Maxima is a powerful alien queen who enters the DC universe as a formidable antagonist before eventually evolving into an unlikely ally.

First introduced in Action Comics #645 in 1989, Maxima is the queen of Almerac who travels to Earth in search of a worthy mate, and chose Superman, only to be rejected. Another storyline sees her teaming up with Brainiac in an attempt to invade Earth. Ultimately, she abandons him when she betrays him and later joins the Justice League. And if the Nexus Point report has any truth to it, then she may join the Man of Tomorrow cast as well.

While the news of Maxima appearing in Man of Tomorrow has been confirmed by Nexus Point only, James Gunn himself became the pathway for the confirmation thanks to his recent confirmation.

Some of the hottest debates and rumors surrounding the Superman sequel were recently put to rest by James Gunn, only to spark new speculations. The director clarified that reports of Batman and Wonder Woman auditions, as well as claims that Wonder Woman would appear in Man of Tomorrow, are simply not true. However, he did confirm that a new character will appear in the upcoming film.

“We are currently casting a female character in MOT,” he wrote on Threads.

While Gunn did not reveal who that character might be, the rumor mill is already buzzing. Maxima is one of the most talked-about possibilities, closely followed by the leader of Stormwatch and a key figure in The Authority, Jenny Sparks. The stakes are high for the sequel to a film that grossed $550 million worldwide, and fans are eager to see how the universe expands next.
