Saturday Night Live has never required its hosts to arrive through the front door of conventional comedy. Athletes have wandered into Studio 8H, musicians have discovered hidden sketch abilities, and celebrities with absolutely no business wearing wigs at midnight have somehow survived the cue cards. Season 52 is keeping that roulette wheel spinning.

This time, however, Lorne Michaels appears ready to hand television’s most famous comedy stage to someone forged almost entirely by the internet. Druski, the viral sketch comedian who turned Instagram characters and fake record-label auditions into an entertainment empire, is reportedly hosting on November 7.

So who exactly is the man about to carry internet comedy into SNL history?

Druski is the stage name of Drew Desbordes, a comedian raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia, whose career exploded through short social-media sketches built around characters everyone somehow recognizes from real life. His early videos spoofed frat boys, rappers, awkward social encounters, and wonderfully terrible personalities.

Then came Coulda Been Records, his satirical music label where Druski plays an aggressively questionable executive auditioning singers and rappers on Instagram Live. What began as internet chaos eventually became its own touring and entertainment brand.

Music helped blast him further into pop culture. Druski toured with Jack Harlow and appeared in Drake’s 'Laugh Now Cry Later' video in 2020, an appearance he has credited with dramatically changing his career. He later hosted the 2026 BET Awards and expanded his work through 4Lifers Entertainment.

Now Puck reports that Druski will host SNL on November 7, becoming the program’s first host whose celebrity was built primarily as a digital creator. NBC has yet to announce the episode officially, and an SNL representative declined to comment.

'SNL' Creates History With Druski Taking Over Hosting for Next Week

Druski could be Season 52’s biggest format experiment, but he is joining an already wonderfully strange collection of hosts.

SNL Season 52 opened on September 26 with New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, fresh from leading the team to an NBA championship, alongside musical guest KATSEYE. Brunson became another athlete thrown directly into the live-sketch furnace, complete with his Knicks teammates crashing the monologue.

Dakota Johnson and Shane Gillis followed on October 3 and October 10, each hosting for the third time, with Turnstile and Rosalía as the musical guests. Then comes Inde Navarrette, the Superman & Lois and Obsession actress, who makes her hosting debut on October 31. Gracie Abrams will serve as musical guest for the Halloween installment. That lineup already jumps from basketball champion to movie star, stand-up comic, horror breakout, and now, reportedly, an internet sketch king.

For Druski, November 7 could represent something much larger than another celebrity gig. A successful night might convince SNL that tomorrow’s hosts do not need Hollywood to discover them first. Sometimes millions of people with phones have already done the casting.
