Doctor Doom stands as the ultimate antagonist in the current MCU scenario, wielding political power, scientific genius, and mystical knowledge that rival any threat the Avengers have faced. He does not operate alone in Avengers: Doomsday. Costumes displayed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 revealed that he is aided by mysterious figures officially labeled the Latverian Witches.

These robed, masked sorcerers wear green, orange, purple, and brown variants that echo Doom’s own visual language. Fan theories now suggest these witches may be familiar MCU characters serving Doom’s multiversal agenda. We may finally have guessed who is who.

Wanda Maximoff as the Orange Latverian Witch

Wanda Maximoff, known as the Scarlet Witch, possesses reality-warping chaos magic that allows her to alter matter, energy, and probability on a cosmic scale. Her MCU origin traces back to Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Hydra experiments with the Mind Stone awakened her telekinetic and telepathic abilities.

She later embraced her destiny as the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she sought the Darkhold to rewrite reality across the multiverse. In the comics, Wanda has served as both hero and villain, sometimes aligning with Doom during events like Secret Wars (2015), where Doom rebuilt the multiverse, and Wanda became his queen.

If Wanda returns as the orange Latverian Witch, she could provide Doom with chaos magic capable of destabilizing entire timelines or rewriting the rules of Battleworld. Her mastery of hex bolts, telepathy, and reality manipulation would make her an invaluable asset in Doom’s war against the Avengers.

With Wanda’s reality-bending power established, the next witch brings a different kind of mystical expertise to Doom’s inner circle.

Doctor Strange as the Brown Latverian Witch

Doctor Strange serves as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, wielding the Eye of Agamotto, the Cloak of Levitation, and mastery over the mystic arts. His MCU journey began in Doctor Strange (2016), where he trained under the Ancient One to defend reality from interdimensional threats. He later wielded the Time Stone in Infinity War and explored the multiverse in No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness.

In the comics, Strange has occasionally allied with Doom during cosmic crises, recognizing that Doom’s intellect and magic can sometimes stabilize reality better than chaos. If Strange becomes the brown Latverian Witch, he could grant Doom access to spells that manipulate time, space and dimensional barriers. His knowledge of the Vishanti, the Dark Dimension and the multiverse would allow Doom to orchestrate complex magical strategies against the Avengers.

As Strange’s mystical prowess bolsters Doom’s arsenal, another sorceress from the Dark Dimension prepares to join the fight.

Clea as the Purple Latverian Witch

Clea hails from the Dark Dimension as the niece of Dormammu and a powerful sorceress trained in the mystic arts. She first appeared in the MCU during the post-credits scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she recruited Strange to help stop an incursion threatening all realities.

In the comics, Clea eventually becomes Sorceress Supreme herself and marries Doctor Strange, mastering spells that rival even Dormammu’s power. If Clea serves as the purple Latverian Witch, she could provide Doom with knowledge of the Dark Dimension’s energy sources and interdimensional portals.

Her ability to cast binding spells, summon eldritch entities and navigate the multiverse would complement Doom’s own magical and scientific expertise. Clea’s presence might also signal Doom’s intent to harness the Dark Dimension’s power for his Battleworld project.

With Clea’s dark magic secured, one final witch from a fractured timeline completes Doom’s mystical quartet.

Sylvie as the Green Latverian Witch

Sylvie Laufeydottir is a variant of Loki who possesses enchantment magic, illusion casting and superhuman strength. Her MCU origin unfolds in Loki, where she rebelled against the Time Variance Authority and killed He Who Remains, fracturing the Sacred Timeline and unleashing the multiverse. Her abilities include mind control, teleportation and combat mastery honed across countless timelines.

In the comics, Loki has frequently allied with Doom during multiversal conflicts, recognizing shared goals of reshaping reality. If Sylvie becomes the green Latverian Witch, she could grant Doom access to timeline manipulation, illusion-based warfare and enchantments that confuse or control enemies. Her knowledge of the TVA and the multiverse’s structure would help Doom navigate the complexities of Battleworld and outmaneuver the Avengers across multiple realities.
