Her family reported her missing on January 31, 2026, and they discovered disturbing signs of a crime at her house included blood and discarded belongings.

The authorities suspect that she had been abducted, as the case develops. 

Nancy Guthrie was last spotted at night on January 31, 2026, at her Arizona home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue. As the Pima County Sheriff's Department continue their search for the elderly widowed mother of three, Savannah Guthrie is currently seeking support for her family.

The Today anchor has shared heartfelt messages on social media, asking for prayers and community help, describing her mother as a woman of deep conviction and faith. Authorities continue their search operations with drones, dogs, and volunteers, as her friends, colleagues, and fans have gathered to send her messages of hope.

Savannah Guthrie, NBC’s Today show anchor since 2012, remains in Arizona, having to cancel her coverage of the opening ceremony of the highly-anticipated winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, hoping for the safe return of her mother.
