Saturday Night Live has confirmed its two newest featured players for Season 52, Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter. The announcement lands days before the show returns to Studio 8H, closing a chapter shaped by an unusually busy round of cast departures. Speculation had been building since summer showcases, when both comedians impressed during their screen tests. With the guesswork over, audiences are eager to learn who these two rising talents truly are.

While Season 52 finally has its names attached, the deeper story lies in the wildly different journeys that brought Belo-Osagie and Reiter to Studio 8H.

Saidah Belo-Osagie brings a fresh, distinctly New York voice to the Saturday Night Live stage. The Queens-born performer built her name through character-driven sketches, the event series Afrobeats Futura, and her solo show Saidah Gets Closure. Her path included assisting on set, producing at festivals, and years of stand-up before landing this role. Alongside her, Grace Reiter joins the cast with an entirely different comedic background rooted in viral internet fame. 

Reiter's path could not be more different, built on viral videos rather than theater stages. Originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, she first gained traction through the TikTok sketch troupe Stapleview before expanding into film and television. Her credits include the Netflix mockumentary Minimum Wage, which she also wrote and directed, alongside a recurring role in HBO's The Chair Company opposite Tim Robinson. At only twenty-five, Reiter becomes the first Saturday Night Live cast member born after the year 2000, marking a generational shift for Studio 8H.

While these fresh faces settle in, their arrival directly follows a wave of exits that reshaped the entire cast landscape.

Martin Herlihy is stepping away from Saturday Night Live after five seasons, closing out a run defined by his work with sketch trio Please Don't Destroy. Joining in 2021 alongside Ben Marshall and John Higgins, Herlihy helped transform their office shorts into one of the show's most reliable comedy staples.

No reason for his exit has been given, though he had already shifted from performing to writing after Higgins departed and Marshall moved into the main cast. His departure closes an unusually eventful chapter for the trio.

Herlihy continues expanding his on-screen résumé, having appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 and opposite Glen Powell in The Running Man remake, with Roommates and The Breadwinners also in his lineup. Please Don't Destroy remains active independently of NBC, developing new projects since their 2025 live special. Between Herlihy's growing acting career and the trio's plans beyond the show, his exit reads less like an ending and more like a turning point.
