The White Lotus not only built a loyal fanbase but also brought well-deserved attention to some talents, including Will Sharpe. The British actor and director has an impressive range of work to his credit, with projects like The Electrical Life of Louis Wain as well as the second season of The White Lotus. He played the character of Ethan Spiller alongside Aubrey Plaza's Harper.

And after the HBO series, Sharpe took on a role that is quite different from playing Ethan. Dogville actor Paul Bettany also joined him for the new series, which is set to premiere soon. 

Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany will play Mozart and Antonio Salieri in the new period drama, Amadeus. After a successful run in the UK, the show has been acquired by Starz. And the thrilling five-part limited series now has a premiere date, which is expected to be on May 8. 

Following the first episode, new episodes will be released weekly every Friday. Previously, there was also a film of the same name, starring Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham in the roles now played by Sharpe and Bettany. Although the film and show are different, both are based on Peter Shaffer’s famous 1979 play Amadeus.

As for the new show, it is adapted by Joe Barton and follows a young, 25-year-old Mozart as he arrives in 18th-century Vienna, looking for new opportunities and creative freedom. During this journey, he meets his future wife, Constanze, and court composer Salieri, who slowly grows insecure. As Mozart begins to threaten everything Salieri has built, the latter vows to take him down, which starts a decades-long journey.

For a show that has an intriguing plot that can easily rival some of the best period dramas, they also have a powerful cast.

Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany, who are part of the cast of Amadeus, are also the executive producers of the show. Gabrielle Creevy, who previously starred in The Guest and In My Skin, plays the role of Constanze Weber. While Rory Kinnear will play the role of Emperor Joseph, and Jonathan Aris will portray Leopold Mozart.

The rest of the cast of the show also includes Hugh Sachs, Lucy Cohu, Jessica Alexander, Ényì Okoronkwo, Paul Bazely, Anastasia Martin, Rupert Vansittart, Nancy Farino, Viola Prettejohn, Olivia-Mai Barrett, and more. The five-part series, Amadeus, will bring the tension between genius and envy. And with Sharpe and Bettany, it has a stellar cast to carry the slow-burning drama.
