Ryan Reynolds has always had a penchant for sweeping fans with his generosity. Be it on screen, or with his innovative bone-tickling ads, this actor is omnipresent. And his takeover of Wrexham AFC with his co-owner Rob McElhenney is creating waves in the stadiums too. With Deadpool like a real-life upbeat character, even Gwyneth Paltrow chimed in her podcast with Scarlett Johansson, exclaiming, “We love a good Ryan Reynolds in our home.” We definitely know that this sentiment resonates with his Welsh fans. Reynold knows how to keep the atmosphere charged.

In their recent US tour, the Wrexham AFC visited the American nation. And with the football team getting the A-grade Hollywood treatment, the fans were pumped to see the budding team make their voyage. But the real-life Ted Lasso and Coach Beard, two of the favorite Wrexham AFC members, weren’t in attendance. Their spot was not left empty, instead occupied by two lifelike cutouts of the Hollywood owners. In a video released by Goal, the fans were seen enjoying their replacement while the players trained. As they filed into the stadium, they were seen clicking selfies and brimming with joy over having met the star, albeit cutouts.

Getting promoted to the league ranks of British football after 15 long years, the Wales football club got a whole makeover.

Ryan Reynolds and his successful attempt at pulling the team upwards

While the fans enjoyed the selfie worth cutouts, it was all hearts and claps in the comments. And garnering this fandom wasn’t just a solo effort. Along with team revamping in spirit and approach, the Canadian-American along with his pal opened small doors for this team. Be it his documentary, Welcome to Wrexham, or his philanthropic work, the actor has respectfully transformed opportunities for this team. Even Gary Neville commended their role in taking this team forward. And these attempts at boosting morale and putting the team out there with the docuseries also put the club on the radar of big league clubs. And this US leg is just the star.
