Premiering on May 12, 2026 in the US and May 13 internationally, The Punisher: One Last Kill will stream exclusively on Disney+. Set after Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, the special follows Frank Castle trying to bury his revenge-driven past before a rising criminal empire pulls him back into one final war. Packed into a brutal 60-minute runtime, the project promises another violent spiral through the Punisher’s darkest chaos yet.

Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, The Punisher: One Last Kill brings back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, with the actor also co-writing the special alongside Green himself. The cast further includes Judith Light as the dangerous crime matriarch Ma Gnucci, while Jason R. Moore returns as Curtis Hoyle, Frank’s closest ally and moral anchor. Supporting names include Chelsea Brea, Roe Rancell, Mila Jaymes, and a rumoured return of Josh Stewart as John Pilgrim, with Kevin Feige serving as executive producer.

But beyond the bullets and bloodshed, Marvel’s upcoming special now promises to drag Frank Castle into one last spiral of darkness.

What chaos is The Punisher: One Last Kill about to unleash this time?

Set after the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, The Punisher: One Last Kill follows Frank Castle hiding off-grid until the ruthless Gnucci crime family brutally targets the few people he still has left. With Judith Light’s Ma Gnucci aiming to seize complete control of New York’s underworld, Frank is dragged out for one final war, a mission the special heavily frames as a last stand he may not survive. The story will also directly bridge Frank Castle’s road toward teaming up with Spider-Man in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Long before this final chapter, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher carved one of Marvel’s darkest arcs through Netflix history. From exposing the military conspiracy behind his family’s murder in Season 1, protecting Amy while hunting Billy Russo in Season 2, to his brutal ideological clashes with Matt Murdock in Daredevil, Frank Castle evolved into Marvel’s most violent anti-hero, a former Marine veteran whose entire war began after his family was killed in a Central Park crossfire.

And, with The Punisher: One Last Kill now officially landing on Disney+, Marvel fandoms can once again prepare themselves to witness Frank Castle return in one of his darkest MCU outings yet.
