Where to Watch the ‘Busboys’ Movie in 2026? Complete Guide to Stream the Comedy

Published 04/17/2026, 1:09 PM EDT

Buddy comedies have a unique place as far as the comedy genre goes. They are so simple yet so funny to watch. The whole premise generally revolves around two friends, either of the opposite nature or a similar level of crazy, that generates the most out-of-the-ordinary and perverse reactions to ordinary situations.

Some of the classic gems that came out of this subgenre are Dumb and Dumber (1994), Bad Boys (1995), Superbad (2007), 21 Jump Street (2012), and many more. They all have some of the most iconic buddy duos that are simply wacky together on the screen. But now, there is a new duo in town, heading to take the world of buddy comedies by storm.

The Busboys is the latest addition to the genre that has become the talk of the town and has entered everyone’s watchlist. However, without a streaming guide, it would be a bit difficult to find the movie.

A comprehensive streaming guide for Busboys

Busboys, starring the famous comedian and actor David Spade and podcast host Theo Von in the lead roles, can be watched in the theatres for now, as it was released on April 17, 2026. The movie, written and produced by Spade and Von, has been released in a select few theaters in the USA. The movie was originally only scheduled to open at Cinemark and Regal cinemas, but Fandango claims that some AMC theaters will also be showing it.

Currently, neither Netflix nor Prime Video is streaming Busboys. Busboys might eventually be available for streaming on either of the streaming platforms (Prime Video, most probably, according to JustWatch) or another subscription streaming service. However, there will be a significant waiting period as the movie has just started its theatrical run, and there will also be a digital release, apparently.

As mentioned earlier, Theo Von and David Spade, the movie's stars, are financing the release of Busboys, which is a very unusual circumstance. Without the assistance of a traditional studio or distribution business, Night, a digital talent management and marketing organization, is releasing the movie straight to theaters.

Since the streaming details are sorted, a little about the basic plot of the movie would help a lot in ultimately deciding to see the film.

What is the plot of Busboys?

The movie, Busboys, follows two buddies who choose to work as waiters because they somehow get the idea that it is one of the coolest professions in the world. But before they can land their dream role of wait staff, they must first prove themselves as busboys. A fairly simple premise, but a lot can go wrong when two boneheads come together.

Busboys will have to rely on David Spade's popularity as a celebrated comedian-actor, who has, over the years, given many underrated comedy flicks, and Theo Von's podcast audience and favorable word-of-mouth to spread the news about the movie, since there is no studio backing a marketing campaign for the film. Anyhow, once it is done with its theatrical run, it will shortly head for the streaming platforms.
