Directed by Steven E. De Souza, the original film follows Colonel Guile, played by Van Damme, as he leads a group of fighters against the ruthless dictator M. Bison. Julia’s performance as Bison became a standout feature of the movie, which brought together characters including Chun-Li, Ryu, and Ken Masters in a story packed with exaggerated villains, martial arts battles, and over-the-top action. Although the film received a mixed response from critics, it has maintained a following among fans of video game adaptations and ’90s action cinema.
Now, more than 30 years later, the franchise is gearing up for another live-action outing, with a fresh cast and a new take on the World Warrior Tournament.
