RZA’s beats across several intense and crucial action scenes in Kill Bill: Volume 1 remain iconic to this day. But alongside his music career, the rapper and actor has also steadily built his directorial profile, too. His directorial debut, the martial arts film The Man with the Iron Fists, is just one of the many films he has made. This year, the director is returning with yet another action thriller, One Spoon of Chocolate. 

This is the director’s fourth feature film, but is it available to watch on the big screen?

The new film, One Spoon of Chocolate, was released in theaters on May 1, 2026. As of now, the movie is only available in theaters following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival. And tickets for the action thriller film can be purchased through several platforms, including Fandango and AMC Theatres.

Quentin Tarantino has also presented the film. He praised the revenge thriller and its action scenes. The director who worked with RZA for Kill Bill: Volume 1 was also his mentor.    

And director, RZA, who is widely known for Wu-Tang Clan, also wrote the script for One Spoon of Chocolate. The director has also opened up about the challenges of making the movie and further spoke about the decades-long work on the script. As per the director, the film is best experienced in theaters.

“The film is both timeless and timely. Get ready for thrills, chills, and some bone-cracking action, followed by a spoonful of thought provoking substance,” he said.

Apart from the creative minds behind it, what is the plot of the action thriller?

RZA’s One Spoon of Chocolate follows a military veteran and former convict, Unique, who moves to a small town hoping to rebuild his life. However, things quickly take a dark turn after he clashed with a local gang and begins suspecting them in the disappearance of several young men, including his cousin. And as he searched for answers, he realized the danger was far more than he expected.

And even the local sheriff’s office is also possibly tied to the case. Rather than staying silent, Unique and the people close to him decide to fight back against the growing threat around them. The revenge thriller stars Shameik Moore as Unique. He is joined by Blair Underwood, Paris Jackson, RJ Cyler, Harry Goodwins, Emyri Crutchfield, and Michael Harney. A brilliant storyline paired with an extraordinary cast, One Spoon of Chocolate is clearly cannot be missed.
