Where to Watch 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'? Is the James Cameron Film Available for Streaming Online?

Published 05/05/2026, 1:16 AM EDT

Avatar: Fire and Ash finally brought Pandora back nearly three years after the second film in the franchise. Unsurprisingly, the latest epic became one of the highest-grossing movies, earning more than $1 billion worldwide at the box office last year. Clearly, the love for theaters is still alive, but many might also be eager to rewatch the film from the comfort of their home.

So, as hinted after its theatrical release, is the movie available to watch online this year?

Avatar: Fire and Ash is currently available to buy on digital platforms. Both Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV have the film available for purchase. The movie will also be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and DVD on May 19.

As of now, the film is not available through any subscription services. However, there is a strong case that it could arrive on Disney+, since the previous two films are already on the platform, possibly later this year. It may also become available on Disney-owned streamer, Hulu.

For now, its streaming future remains uncertain until an official announcement is made. But the real question that continues to bother the fandom, as well as director James Cameron, is whether the series will move forward with its final two films. Cameron has previously expressed doubts about their possibility.

He even has both a Plan A and a Plan B if those films do not materialize.

James Cameron revealed doubts over Avatar 4 and 5

Despite the massive success of the last three Avatar movies, James Cameron has expressed doubts about the future of Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. He pointed out that the cost of VFX has grown enormously. He explained that it all depends on whether the films continue to justify their massive budgets at the box office.

"I don't know if the saga goes beyond this point. I hope it does. But, you know, we prove that business case every time we go out," he told Entertainment Weekly.

At the same time, Cameron seems prepared for any outcome. If the later chapters do not get made, he has said he would turn the remaining story of Pandora into books as his Plan A. His Plan B is even more direct, which is simply revealing his intended storyline at a press conference. But for most fans of the Avatar series, the hope will remain that it never comes to either of those options, and the story continues on the big screen as intended.
