Timothée Chalamet has been the talk of the Oscars town lately. Partly for the gravitas he brought to Marty Supreme, but mostly for his comments on the relevance of ballet and opera, which as per public census were as shallow as ping-pong balls. While such comments among other heavier matters consume the Earth, cinema, thankfully, remains one of the very few art forms that is not dying yet, and streaming culture has made immense contributions to materialize that. 

Chalamet seems to be in the right business, as his run for the Academy Awards remains widely discussed, with public curiosity about the streaming details of his sports drama on the rise.

Marty Supreme currently exists on digital video-on-demand platforms because it has not yet arrived on traditional subscription-based streaming services. Viewers can rent or purchase the movie on services like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home, making it easy to watch from home ahead of the awards. The digital release began in February 2026, shortly after the film’s theatrical run, which began on December 25, 2025.

According to Forbes, the movie will stream on HBO Max soon, following the pattern because A24 and HBO renewed their multi-year partnership for exclusive film releases in January 2026. Until then, online rental services host Marty Supreme, which has become one of the most popular Oscar contenders this year.

Good Time's Josh Safdie directed the movie, which chronicles a charismatic hustler who wants to succeed in table tennis. The film, loosely based on Marty Reisman's life story, creates a sports dramedy that combines ambition and fame with personal challenges. The cast includes Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Odessa A'zion, who add star power to drive the film's awards-season success. 

Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher appear in the film in supporting roles. Marty Supreme earned critical acclaim and grossed $162.3 million worldwide. It became the highest-grossing movie from A24 in 2025, and gained Awards circuit momentum with  Chalamet bagging a Golden Globe Award and Critics' Choice Award for his stellar performance as the ping-pong hustler.
