Following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which reset Peter Parker's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the future of Spider-Man has become one of Marvel's most closely watched storylines. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day on the horizon, fans are eager to see where Tom Holland's hero goes next. They are also wondering about how Marvel plans to eventually introduce Miles Morales, setting the stage for the franchise's next era. 

Now, Marvel's latest roadmap offers the clearest picture of where Peter Parker's story is headed after Spider-Man: No Way Home. 

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has shared new details about Spider-Man's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revealing that the franchise's long-term plans extend well beyond Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Feige said ongoing discussions with Sony producer Amy Pascal include a roadmap that could span as many as five solo Spider-Man films. It will also include the long-awaited live-action debut of Miles Morales. 

"The good news is, Sony has the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse series, which are very popular and excellent, and Beyond the Universe is coming out next year," Feige said in an interview with Shanghai media outlet Watching Hollywood. 

During the same interview, Feige indicated that Marvel intends to introduce Morales in live action only after Sony completes its Spider-Verse animated trilogy. He also revealed that he and producer Amy Pascal have been mapping out Spider-Man's future well beyond existing agreements, with discussions already covering several potential installments and a long-term direction for the franchise. 

Speculation about Miles Morales joining the MCU has been around since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse hit big, but the idea gained some real traction after Spider-Man: No Way Home proved that multiple Spider-Men could exist across different universes. That memorable exchange, where Electro said he had thought Spider-Man would be Black, also sparked fan theories. Many viewers saw it as a subtle tease that Morales could eventually make his live-action debut.

While Peter Parker remains Marvel's immediate focus, the studio is already laying the groundwork for Miles Morales' eventual arrival in live action. 

Marvel has revealed that Sony will release Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse on June 18, 2027. It opens with Miles Morales being stranded on Earth-42, a universe where he never became Spider-Man because the radioactive spider that bit him came from there. Instead, Miles’ other self is now the Prowler. Miles has to dodge Miguel O’Hara’s Spider-Society, confront his darker version of himself, and take down the Spot, all while trying to save his father from a tragic canon event that threatens his future and searching for a way home.

With Tom Holland’s Peter Parker still at the heart of the franchise, Marvel’s shifting roadmap suggests that Spider-Man will be a cornerstone of the MCU for years to come. Simultaneously, Feige’s comments reinforce that Morales is very much in Marvel’s long-term plans, even if it means fans will have to wait until after Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Marvel and Sony are working together to build the future of the web-slinger, and fans can expect to see the next chapter of Spider-Man storytelling unfold on an even bigger scale.
