Marvel has just dropped a new MCU mystery box on the table and, naturally, refused to hand over the key. Zodiac, a live-action global spy thriller, is heading to Disney+ in 2028 after being unveiled at New York Comic Con. Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum confirmed that cameras will roll in London in spring 2027, with casting beginning within weeks.

Plot details, characters, and creatives remain locked behind studio doors, making this Marvel Television’s most tantalizing blank canvas in years. It also marks the first newly announced live-action Marvel series since Ironheart.

One title, however, already gives comic readers plenty to chew on: who exactly is Zodiac?

Who is Zodiac in Marvel Comics?

In Marvel Comics, Zodiac is essentially an astrological crime syndicate with the organizational enthusiasm of a Fortune 500 board and the wardrobe budget of twelve supervillains. The original network consists of leaders adopting identities based on the zodiac signs, including Taurus, Aries, Scorpio, and Virgo.

Businessman Cornelius van Lunt sits at the heart of its classic incarnation. A devoted believer in astrology, van Lunt used his fortune to create and equip a nationwide criminal network made up of twelve leaders. Operating as Taurus, he envisioned Zodiac controlling humanity through political and economic power, mirroring his belief that astrology governed human destiny.

The group generally relies on elaborate strategy, technology, and specialized weaponry instead of handing every member a conventional superpower. Leadership could rotate according to astrological signs, while new figures carrying the same celestial identity sometimes replaced fallen members. That structure has allowed Marvel Comics to reinvent Zodiac repeatedly across decades.

Marvel has not confirmed that the Disney+ show will adapt this particular team. Winderbaum did, however, tell NYCC attendees that comic fans should study the newly revealed logo because “there is a lot hidden in that logo.” That design has already sparked S.H.I.E.L.D. speculation, though Marvel has kept its cards firmly pressed to its chest.

While Zodiac keeps its celestial conspiracy hidden until 2028, Marvel has another identity crisis ready to explode considerably sooner.

VisionQuest brings White Vision back into the MCU

Paul Bettany returns as Vision in VisionQuest, Marvel Television’s eight-episode conclusion to the story that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along. The rebuilt synthezoid has escaped those who wanted to weaponize him and retreated from the world while trying to understand what remains of his old identity.

His mind is hardly a peaceful territory. Vision consults artificial-intelligence personas embedded within his programming, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and James Spader’s returning Ultron. That quiet digital soul-searching ends once somebody places a bounty on his head, forcing him to flee alongside Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious teenager who may be the reincarnation of his son Tommy.

Terry Matalas serves as creator and showrunner, with Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and James D’Arcy among the ensemble. B VisionQuest premieres exclusively on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
