The unsinkable parody, Titanique, hits Broadway

According to New York Theatre Guide, Titanique is an award-winning, campy jukebox musical that serves as a direct parody of the 1997 James Cameron film Titanic. The story of Jack and Rose is told through the perspective of a fictionalized Celine Dion, who claims she was actually present during the sinking. She narrates the entire affair by utilizing her own extensive catalog of iconic pop hits to drive the plot forward.

The show features caricatures of the film’s main characters, like Jack Dawson, Rose DeWitt Bukater, Cal Hockley, and Ruth DeWitt Bukater, alongside a personified Iceberg. The main attraction, however, is renditions of Celine Dion songs such as ‘My Heart Will Go On’, ‘All By Myself’, and ‘To Love You More’, reinterpreted to fit the dramatic and comedic scenes.

It is described as hilarious and campy, heavily celebrated for its LGBTQ-friendly humor. The performance is approximately 100 minutes with no intermission. It is recommended for ages 13+ due to strong language and adult s***** innuendoes.
