With a second season already in the works and slated for release later this year, Marvel has also officially renewed the series for a third season. As fans eagerly await the second chapter, exciting new details about Season 3 have begun to surface, which include the possible return of The Hand.

Although the mysterious organization is already familiar to Daredevil fans, there is still much to uncover about the history of these MCU villains.

Daredevil: Born Again promises a reunion tour of familiar faces, and if Daniel Richtman’s teasing is to be believed, some old enemies may be sharpening their blades as well. Chief among them is The Hand, the ancient ninja order with a flair for resurrection, demonic allegiances, and an uncanny ability to make New York’s nights even less forgiving. Serving a dark entity known as the Beast, The Hand’s ranks are said to be largely undead, which does little for their charm and everything for their menace.

Their history with Daredevil, however, is anything but new. For centuries, The Hand’s attempts to spread its influence have put it at odds with the Chaste, a rival order equally committed to stopping them, and one whose fate has long been entwined with Matt Murdock’s own.

While The Hand did have a presence in the earlier seasons of Daredevil: Born Again, and even The Defenders, it remains a mysterious entity. According to scooper Daniel Richtman's recent Patreon tease, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 may finally be the Marvel instalment that will dive deeper into The Hand, and its origins.

The show will continue the story of Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, and Wilson Fisk, played by D’Onofrio. D’Onofrio, who played the same role in the original Daredevil series and later appeared in Hawkeye and Echo, is known for showing a calm yet powerful version of the crime boss. Considering his comment, that same intense portrayal is expected to continue in Season 2.
