John recognizes the planet as the home of Antaan’s people, whose destruction was linked to Zoe Manhunter. The sequence pushes the series into much more cosmic territory, especially when John confronts the fear gas that nearly makes him shoot himself. Yet the episode leaves one major question hanging.

Could this mysterious world actually be Qward?

Qward is a major location in Green Lantern mythology, set in DC’s antimatter universe. The world is closely associated with the Weaponers of Qward, an ancient civilization of weaponsmiths who have repeatedly clashed with the Green Lantern Corps. DC’s own comics have featured battles between the Corps and the Weaponers on Qward, while Green Lantern: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 1 lists the Weaponers among Hal Jordan’s early enemies.

The Weaponers also have a direct connection to Sinestro. DC has described the Weaponer as the Qwardian who forged Sinestro’s original yellow ring, giving the world an important place in Green Lantern mythology.

That history makes Qward an intriguing possibility for Lanterns, which has already introduced the Guardians, Manhunters, Antaan and Sinestro. Still, Episode 7 does not identify the planet as Qward, leaving the connection firmly in the realm of speculation.

One existing theory makes that possibility even more intriguing by turning attention toward one of the DCU’s most mysterious Guardians.

In Lanterns Laura Linney’s Lianna, whose appearance and behavior have raised questions since her introduction. One very prevalent theory argues that Lianna’s physical design differs from the classic small, blue Guardians seen in the comics. She appears taller, with a large head and a red outfit featuring a white X on the back.

The theory gained traction after a visual comparison suggested that Lianna resembles early depictions of the Chief Weaponers of Qward. In the comics, the Weaponers are connected to the anti-matter universe and have repeatedly opposed the Green Lantern Corps. DC has also established Qwardian Weaponers as major figures in conflicts involving Sinestro and the Corps.

That does not confirm Lianna is secretly a Weaponer. It does give the theory a striking comic-book connection, especially after Sinestro appears in Episode 7’s closing moments. For now, Qward remains an intriguing possibility rather than an established part of the episode.
