Henry Cavill has never really left the spotlight, but 2026 finds him juggling more simultaneous projects than perhaps at any point in his career. From swords to spaceships to spy gadgets, Cavill is stacking up a slate that spans genres, studios, and even mediums. Here is a complete breakdown of everything the actor has lined up next.

As the action genre gets a legacy makeover, one project stands out as his most physically demanding yet.

Highlander

Henry Cavill steps into the role of Connor MacLeod, the immortal Scottish warrior first introduced in 1986. Chad Stahelski, known for reinventing action with the John Wick franchise, directs this Highlander reboot, with Russell Crowe as mentor Ramírez and Dave Bautista as the menacing Kurgan. Filming stretched across Scotland, London, Poland, and Hong Kong through mid-2026, with early footage debuting at CinemaCon in April, and a theatrical release is expected sometime in 2027.

While one legacy franchise gets a gritty overhaul, another childhood favorite is heading in a very different direction.

Voltron

In this Amazon adaptation of the beloved 1980s animated series, Henry Cavill plays King Alfor, a mentor figure guiding a new generation of pilots. Rawson Marshall Thurber directs Voltron, with Sterling K. Brown as the villainous Zarkon and Rita Ora as the witch Haggar. Filming wrapped back in May 2025, and the giant robot saga will skip theaters entirely, launching exclusively on Prime Video in 2027.

As the robots power down, Cavill trades armor for espionage in something entirely unexpected.

Spy Duo

Henry Cavill is set to star opposite Kevin Hart in an untitled Netflix spy comedy, Spy Duo, directed by McG. The premise follows two rival secret agents whose pregnant wives become friends at a Lamaze class, dragging the men into an uneasy alliance. Production begins in August 2026 and wraps by November, with a streaming release expected sometime in 2027, marking a rare comedic turn for the actor.

While comedy is new territory, one project has been simmering for years and is finally gaining real momentum.

Warhammer 40000

Henry Cavill remains attached to lead and executive produce this long gestating adaptation of the Warhammer 40000 universe for Amazon. Horror specialist Mike Flanagan recently joined as writer, completing initial outlines and now moving into full scripting, while United Artists has also come aboard. His exact character is still under wraps, and Games Workshop has cautioned that the series remains years away from release.

As that universe slowly takes shape, one much smaller and much older project remains stuck in limbo.

The Rosie Project

Henry Cavill has been attached to The Rosie Project since 2021 to play Don Tillman, a socially awkward genetics professor, in this adaptation of Graeme Simsion's novel. Stephen Falk is set to direct and co-write the romantic comedy, though little public movement has occurred in recent years. With his packed action schedule taking priority, this smaller passion project appears to be on the back burner for now.

Cavill's slate proves he is far from slowing down anytime soon. He may have aged out of ever playing James Bond, but between immortal warriors, giant robots, and secret agents, he seems to be building his own franchise universe instead.
