Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with Peter Parker alone, forgotten by everyone he loved, and that devastating reset is exactly what made Brand New Day feel like the next real chapter in his story. At the same time, Marvel has kept Peter’s role in Avengers: Doomsday tightly under wraps, which has only fueled speculation about how and when he might re-enter the larger MCU.

And now Brand New Day may have slipped us the first real hint.

The Spider-Man: Brand New Day leak reportedly centres on Ned Leeds using the Spider-Tracker from No Way Home and discovering that Peter Parker is no longer on Earth. The footage is said to show the tracker glitching as if Peter cannot be located at all, with some versions of the rumour suggesting he may be in space or another reality entirely. The scene allegedly ends with the words “Spider-Man Will Return,” but without naming Doomsday or Secret Wars directly.

That detail is important because it changes how the scene is read. Instead of functioning like a straightforward teaser for the next Avengers movie, it may be pointing to a more cosmic setup, one that places Peter outside the normal bounds of Earth before the multiversal chaos fully hits. The connection to Battleworld is what makes the rumour especially intriguing.

In Marvel comics, Battleworld is the patchwork reality assembled by Doctor Doom from the remains of destroyed universes, and it has become the clearest template for how Secret Wars could reset the MCU. If Peter is already displaced when the scene ends, that could mean he is being positioned as one of the characters caught in the fallout, or even one of the survivors who reaches Doom’s new reality later.

And just as fans try to decode the ending, another unexpected moment has stirred up fresh speculation around the film’s characters.

Steve Lacy may have unintentionally kicked off a wave of Spider-Man: Brand New Day spoiler panic during the film’s red carpet premiere. While being asked about the movie, he seemed to reveal a detail about a character named Jean, which immediately set off alarms online because fans have been closely guarding the mystery around Sadie Sink’s role. 

“Jean. I like Jean,” Lacy revealed to Valkyrae  and then added that she was the villain, but there was a reason behind her behaviour. When the interviewer asked whether that counted as a spoiler, he quickly tried to walk it back by saying he just liked the character and did not really know why he said it that way.

The reason this matters is that Brand New Day has been under intense scrutiny for months, and every hint about its story has been treated like a major event. Lacy was at the premiere because his song appears on the soundtrack, so he likely did not expect to become part of the speculation himself.

Whether he truly revealed a key detail or simply sparked a false alarm, the moment has added another layer of intrigue. At this point, even a casual comment is enough to send Spider-Man fans searching for answers.
