There were plenty of theories and speculation surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Apart from the Jean Grey speculation, Hulk’s role was certainly one of the biggest talking points among the fandom. Now, the movie is finally out, putting several of those rumors to rest, including questions about Hulk’s fate. 

As seen in the teasers, Savage Hulk comes face-to-face with Spider-Man. Unlike the more controlled version of Bruce Banner that fans have become familiar with, Savage Hulk is far more aggressive, unpredictable, and difficult to control. So what exactly happens to Hulk in the movie, and where does he end up after the events of this movie?

As previously speculated by many, Bruce Banner gets mind-controlled by Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, who forces him to fight against Peter Parker. However, the superhero is able to fight back against Jean as he tries to get her out of his head. When Jean finally leaves his mind, Banner becomes confused, which strips away his humanity and instead transforms him into the Savage Hulk. 

While Parker had the universal inhibitor, as seen in the trailers, it could not pierce through Hulk’s thick skin. As many know, the Savage Hulk is far more dangerous than any other version of the character. So, rather than relying on physical force, Peter appeals to the part of Hulk that is still Bruce Banner, helping him regain control. 

In the end, Banner is seen being carried away on a stretcher in an ambulance. As for Avengers: Doomsday, the actor has confirmed that his character will not appear in the movie. So, it remains to be seen when he could return for another movie.

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day's release, fans finally also have an answer about Sadie Sink’s character and her role in the film.

Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There was massive secrecy surrounding her character, while several theories and speculations continued to circulate. Although the cast and crew were careful not to reveal any details, Kevin Feige had previously explained how casting Sink helped solidify the decision about her character.

“We had a Peter story that we wanted to tell, and knew that there were a number of characters that could fit into that. And it was Sadie’s name who came up that solidified the idea of the character that she’s playing,” Feige told Entertainment Weekly.

Interestingly, Sink also avoided the lengthy audition process to land the role in the movie. She had previously worked with director Destin Daniel Cretton on the 2017 film The Glass Castle, which may have helped the team envision her in the role. With both Hulk’s fate and Sadie Sink’s mysterious role revealed, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has finally answered two of the biggest questions about the movie.
