Unraveling all the details and significance of this iconic tribute to Pearl Harmon in a special Friends episode.

What ‘Friends’ Episode Was Dedicated to Pearl Harmon? All You Need to Know About This Moment

Friends gained unparalleled popularity during its original run, and the world
has continued to cherish it to date. Fans often attribute its success to
relatable characters, witty plotlines, and the chemistry among the headlining
cast. While those things are indeed true, other things made the sitcom even more
relatable and heartwarming. One of the things was the show paying tribute to
famous personalities through guest appearances and references.

Speaking of tributes, one of the notable nods includes the one to Pearl Harmon.
However, not many know who she was. Let’s find out all the things one needs to
know about the tribute to her in the show.

WHICH FRIENDS EPISODE HONORED PEARL HARMON’S MEMORY?

Friends episode 7, The One with the Stain, of season 8, was dedicated to Pearl
Harmon. Even after all these years, fans have wondered for years who the lady
was that show honored. It turned out it was the great-grandmother of the cast
member Matt LeBlanc who played Joey Tribbiani. She died the same year at age 101
when the season premiered on NBC. So the creators honored her memory and
mentioned it in the post-credits of the episode writing “Dedicated to the memory
of Pearl Harmon”.

As for the episode, it depicted Chandler Bing hiring a maid named Brenda to
clean Monica’s apartment, which makes her anxious. Though she promises to give
her a chance, she believes the housekeeper has stolen her jeans. While Monica
tries to prove Brenda guilty, her bestie Rachel looks for a new apartment
because she cannot stay with Joey once the baby is born. Ross too helps her find
a new place and tells her that a woman passed away in his building that morning.

While the chaos from Monica letting her maid do her work of Ross fulfilling the
old lady’s wish made this tribute episode a fun one to watch, recently the
creators have also honored one of their own, Matthew Perry.

MAX HONORED LATE ACTOR MATTHEW PERRY

After the news of Matthew Perry’s untimely demise came out, Max found the best
way to keep his memory alive in fans’ hearts. To honor his incredible
contribution to the show as Chandler Bing, they added a tribute card at the
start of each season. “In memory of Matthew Perry 1969-2023,” read the card, and
it appears on the screen before the opening sequence.

Perry left for his heavy abode on October 28, 2023. His close friends and other
celebrities also paid him tribute through their social media accounts. More so,
while fans have been keeping his memories alive in every way possible, his
stepdad and Jennifer Aniston have been doing the same. Recently, Aniston urged
fans to support his foundation

just like stepdad and continue what the actor has left behind. Even back then
and now, Friends has not only stayed relevant but has found heartwarming ways to
honor the legacies of those who left.
