Over the years, the NBC sitcom Friends has left a lasting impression on the world for its impartial relevance across generations. The 90s show still feeds the comfort hunger as a staple for the millennials. The most notable aspect of its inclusiveness is how it has etched the picture of six-core friends instead of giving primacy to an individual. And since their shared levity marked its touchstone on unparalleled popularity, Courteney Cox once revealed how the fame had gotten her puzzled until a moment of realization took the blow.

The specialty of memorable shows is that the character portrayals often become synonymous with the real profile of the personality. For Courteney Cox, coming to terms with it took some introspection.

The fame that came as a byproduct of the immense success of the show was a significant change for the Friends cast, as was revealed by Courteney Cox once in her interview with Sunday Sitdown. Reflecting on the time when the director took them for the Las Vegas trip, she recalled him saying, “it will be the last time that all six of you together can walk through a casino,”. Her retaliation was rather amusing when she said, “We’re not… the Beatles.”.

Often when the memory jerks up picturing the core cast, the laughter pills of Friends rattle the brain cells. But for Cox to attend to such large-scale acknowledgment at the time was not textbook information. Although, over time, Cox has accepted that “it was special”, to some extent it is still “strange” for her which coaxes her disbelief. However, she also shared that the reason why Friends “holds up” even today is that it is a “relevant comedy”.

The show that became the highlight of friendship and alliance was known for going all in with its picture-perfect depictions and historic paychecks. The series was not only secured convincingly for the audience but also for its crew. However, Cox revealed in the same interview that she suffers from a “bad memory” which creates a blank page whenever she watches some episode. She further said that even without the memory of it, it does not fail the “funny” mark.

Probably a pointer as to why she crowns Friends as a “relevant comedy”. While one can agree with her forgetfulness, one can still attest that the show has a deep place in her heart because her social anecdotes always consist of a Friends reference, be it the turkey dance or the throwback pictures. Hence, not only Cox has learned to deal with the acclaim but also with her time on Friends, since now it lives like a part of herself and not really as a memory.
