Sydney Sweeney turned herself into a real-life stunt double this week, taking to the skies strapped atop a moving biplane for a jaw-dropping wing-walking video. The Euphoria star has never been shy about chasing an adrenaline rush, and this latest escapade pushed that reputation to new heights, quite literally. What followed was a high-flying stunt sequence, with Sweeney taking a page from Tom Cruise’s playbook.

While gravity did its best to test her nerve, Sweeney met it with a grin, setting the stage for a caption that said it all.

Sydney Sweeney posted the video on Instagram on Monday, August 24, secured atop the top wing of a biplane as it barreled through rolls and loops mid-air. Goggles on and arms locked in place, she stayed composed through every upside-down turn, riding it out like a seasoned professional.

"Watch out Tom Cruise," she wrote in her caption, a cheeky nod connecting her stunt to Cruise's biplane sequence in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.

Her Instagram post revealed that Sweeney filmed the entire stunt herself, holding a compact action camera to capture point-of-view footage as the biplane rolled and looped through the air. The UK-based Wing Walk Company, which hosted the experience, responded with pure delight, praising her composure during the flight. Photographer and friend Eddy Chen admitted the ordeal would have made him pass out, while the official Top Gun account chimed in referencing the need for speed.

This was not Sweeney's first brush with the sky, and her history proves the fearlessness runs deep.

Sydney Sweeney has a long history of chasing thrills off camera

Sydney Sweeney took her first tandem skydive in August 2025 with professional aerialist Luke Aikins, later calling it one of the coolest experiences of her life. She has admitted to being scared of heights, yet jumped anyway during what she called her year of trying new things. Nearly a year later, in July 2026, she leaped off a cliff in Queenstown, New Zealand, for a tandem bungee jump with boyfriend Scooter Braun, including a nighttime plunge that stopped just above the water.

Beyond personal thrill seeking, Sweeney performed her own boxing sequences for the upcoming biopic Christy, training in kickboxing and grappling since childhood and sustaining real injuries, including a concussion during filming. Add waterskiing, cliff jumping, and kite surfing to the hobbies she casually documents online, and a clear pattern emerges of someone who treats danger as entertainment. Tom Cruise built a career on doing his own stunts, and Sweeney seems determined to give him real competition.
