Warner Bros. is looking to bring back the beloved 1993 classic, Free Willy, with Russo Brothers attached to the reboot as producers. Freedom, friendship, and belonging are some of the things that every living being deserves, but sometimes some of them are denied these basic necessities of life. The deep impact of these abstract virtues of life on an individual, no matter human or animal, is beautifully expressed by the 1993 family drama. The story depicts an unbreakable bond between a boy and an Orca in captivity, and the whole movie is an emotional gut punch that knocks one out with its tear-jerker ending.

Now, reports have emerged claiming that the 33-year-old movie is getting a reboot from Warner Bros. with the Russo Brothers hopping onboard as producers.

The reimagination of the 1990s family adventure Free Willy is set to be produced by Anthony and Joe Russo's AGBO, backed by Warner Bros, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Kunze began her career as a creative executive at Marvel Television, where she worked on shows including Daredevil and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Miller's Girl, a Lionsgate film produced by Kunze and based on Bartlett's 2016 Blacklist script, marked her feature film debut. Based on Hannah Grace's young adult romance book of the same name, she developed the upcoming Netflix series Icebreaker.

Michael Disco, Kassee Whiting, and Angela Russo-Otstot of BGO will produce, while Anthony and Joe Russo will serve as executive producers. Beyond Free Willy, Lionsgate's John Rambo film starring Noah Centineo, Robert De Niro's criminal drama The Whisper Man, Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday, and the third Extraction movie are all part of the AGBO slate, per The Hollywood Reporter.
