At a time when the Sussex’s image was suffering a supposed downside, it was announced that Meghan Markle for her dedication to empowering women and ultimately emerging as an inspiration will be awarded the Ms. Foundation’s Women of Vision Award. And much like anything that involves the Duchess and Duke of Sussex, there were numerous predictions made. These ranged from the dress Meghan Markle would wear to her ditching Prince Harry as he did to her at the coronation. But no one could have predicted the car chase that ensued following the award show or the debate that would swallow it.

Following the news of the car crash that was brought to light by their own spokesperson, there have been countless accusations against the Sussexes of spreading lies. The strongest one came from Bethenny Frankel. However, the Sussexes seem to have made quite an impression on The Oprah Winfrey Show, as the editor at large on the ‘O’ magazine comes in their support.

As Meghan Markle impressed in a gold sequined outfit along with her Prince as she received the Women of Vision award, the couple really looked as though they were at a movie premiere. However, this description, if taken up a notch by adding “car chase in New York” to it, can end in a lot of celebrities mocking you. But Gayle King is not one of them. Her thoughtful approach to the car-chase incident is a stark contrast to Bethenny Frankel. King instead criticized those who had mocked the couple. “It’s troubling to me that anybody would try to downplay what that would mean to them,” she told Page Six.

It is comforting for fans of the Sussexes to know that they have made a friend like King in the United States. The Walter Cronkite award-winning journalist met with the couple when they were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.
Much like how the former talk show host left us thinking about what goes inside the royal family, Gayle King reminded people of the real question that needs discussion.
Was the chase for the Sussexes two hours long?
The silence that enveloped the masses following the news of a “near catastrophic” car chase was very short. What would have otherwise had people speaking on the dangers of paparazzi crossing the lines turned into a debate about credibility, as it was a matter of the Sussexes. Many questioned how they even managed to have a two-hour-long car chase in the grueling traffic of New York.

While the spokesperson had only referred to the “two-hour-long car chase, “ it is important to note that the media has been chasing the Sussexes for way longer. In the loud discussion that has swallowed the two-hour-long New York car chase, one must not forget the years-long chase that drove them out of the United Kingdom.
