Waleses’ Post-Coronation Engagements Continue as Prince William and Kate Middleton Look Forward to Earthshot 2023

There seems to be no rest for the Waleses. Days after the coronation of King Charles III, the Prince and Princess of Wales resumed their royal duties. It started with The Big Help Out, where Prince William and Kate Middleton went with their 3 children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. This was followed by the second annual tea party at Buckingham Palace that celebrates those for their charity and public service.

Post this, Prince William hosted the Investiture Ceremony at Windsor Castle, honoring people from across the UK. And now, the Prince of Wales has yet another event ahead of him.
Prince William reveals the location of his prestigious Earthshot Prize

The official Instagram handle of the Prince and Princess of Wales announced the location of the prestigious Earthshot Prize, which started back in 2020. This year, the event will happen in Singapore on November 7.

In an official statement reported by PEOPLE, the Prince of Wales described that the purpose of the Earthshot Prize is to find innovative solutions to environmental challenges. “After two years of discovering impactful ideas and innovations, I am delighted that The Earthshot Prize is traveling to Singapore, where the ground-breaking solutions of our 2023 Finalists will be celebrated,” he further added.
Prince of Wales started The Earthshot Prize in 2020. It aims to ‘regenerate’ the Earth for the coming ‘decades’. The prize has five key categories: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate. Each winner from these categories gets £1 million to help expand the horizon of environmental solutions.
The Earthshot Prize will have its first-ever Earthshot Week this year. This will witness business leaders, investors, and others find ways to support the winners by supporting their solutions. Let’s take a look back at last year’s Earthshot event.
A look at the previous year’s Earthshot event

Last year, the couple attended the Earthshot event in Boston where Kate was seen wearing a gorgeous green dress by Solace London that led Twitterati into a frenzy. The dress adhered to the principles of sustainability that align with the goals of the prize as well.
As of now, the Earthshot event has benefitted 1.5 million people. It has done so by reducing 35,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions and piercing and restoring 2.1 million hectares of land. Former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern has also joined the initiative.
