Set in the 1950s, the new show will explore the origins of Vought through a twisted m***** mystery centered around early Supes, dangerous experiments, and the company’s growing political influence during one of America’s most paranoid eras.
The newly revealed cast details have also confirmed the return of major franchise characters, including Soldier Boy and Stormfront, while introducing Bombsight, a WWII-era Supe whose history may connect directly to the events of Season 5. The biggest returning name attached to Vought Rising is Jensen Ackles, who will reprise his role as Soldier Boy. Since the character does not age normally due to Compound V experimentation, the prequel provides the perfect opportunity to explore his early years during Vought’s rise to power. The series is expected to show Soldier Boy long before his modern-day downfall, including his involvement with dangerous military experiments tied to Frederick Vought’s original V-One serum.
Another major return comes from Aya Cash as Stormfront, who will appear under her original identity, Clara Vought. Her presence is especially important because the series will reportedly focus on her role inside the company’s earliest operations during the Cold W** era. Alongside them, Mason Dye joins the expanding franchise as Bombsight, while Will Hochman and Elizabeth Posey will portray Torpedo and Private Angel. Additional cast members include KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith in undisclosed roles.
Bombsight’s arrival could completely reshape what fans know about Vought’s earliest experiments and wartime secrets.
How Vought Rising explores the violent creation of the Supe empire?
Set decades before Homelander and The Seven dominated the world of The Boys, Vought Rising takes audiences back to the 1950s, when Vought International was still building its power behind closed doors. The series reportedly centers on a twisted murder mystery tied to the company’s earliest experiments with Compound V, while also exploring the rise of Supes during the tense Cold W** and Red Scare era. With political paranoia, corporate manipulation, and violent experimentation shaping the story, the prequel looks set to reveal how Vought turned fear into influence long before modern superheroes became celebrities.

The series will also dive into the complicated relationship between Soldier Boy and Stormfront during her earlier identity as Clara Vought. Alongside returning characters, the show introduces new Supes connected to post-WWII military operations and Vought’s secret programs. Blending dark comedy, brutal violence, political satire, and conspiracy-driven storytelling, the prequel appears ready to uncover the bloody foundation that eventually led to groups like Payback and The Seven.
By revisiting the origins of Vought, the prequel series expanded the universe beyond Homelander’s reign and explored how fear, w**, and experimentation shaped the company from the very beginning. With returning characters like Soldier Boy and Stormfront alongside new additions like Bombsight, the series seemed poised to uncover the violent foundation that helped create the modern Supe empire fans saw in The Boys.
